Wow. . . what a week leading up to the PRI Show in Orlando. The great "Carburetor Shoot Out" was designed to bring all the best carburetor builders from around the country for an open competition. All were invited & 15 of the best carburetor companies in the world comprised this outstanding field. The first challenge was based on a Mullins built 430ci small block circle track engine, while the second challenge featured a Steve Schmidt 618ci big block drag race engine. Each challenge was based on the quickest acceleration throughout the total rpm range measured on a state of the art Revolution Inertia engine dyno, which perfectly simulates real world race conditions. The 2 challenges offer 2 first place trophies. One for power & acceleration right out of the box the way your customer would receive the carburetor, & the other gives you a couple of additional chances to tune the carburetor to try & increase overall output. It was a wonderful experience & camaraderie for all the competitors & run without a flaw by the fine folks at BLP Products. To make sure of a level playing field David Vizard was the challenge steward & the Revolution Dyno people were brought in to run the event.

Now for the results of the four possible trophies we could win.
In the small block challenge we won the out of the box competition & were runner up in the tuning competition.
In the big block challenge we won the out of the box competition & also won the tuning challenge!
Of the 4 possible first place trophies we took home 3 with 1 runner up!
